Description

A thin, pale grey crust forming lichen with black apothecia (up to 1.5mm diameter), often in groups or lines.

Habitat

Often found on base-poor rocks and small stones.

When to see it

All year round.

UK Status

Widespread and fairly common in most of Britain, except the East Anglia region.

VC55 Status

Fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland.
