UK Status

Difficulty of identification makes it hard to determine the true status, but it appears to be rare or under recorded in Britain.

VC55 Status

The Melton record of September 2015 is believed to be the first for VC55.

Recently separated from Bolboschoenus maritimus and therefore not recorded in the past in Leicestershire and Rutland; status unknown.

Although it is a rarely recorded native in VC55, It is not on the current RPR (Hall & Woodward, 2022), but is listed as 'data deficient' because of the recent taxonomic split.
