Trimicra pilipes
The wings have a dark, brownish appearance, and the legs are hairy.
Often around lakes and ponds.
It has a short flight period and can be seen in late springtime.
The larvae live in mud at the edges of ponds/lakes in the 'draw-down zone' -- the part that gets exposed in the summer or at the edge of a reservoir when the water gets used.
It is widespread but not well recorded in Britain.
Uncommon in our area - there are few records from Leicestershire and Rutland.
