Dorytomus filirostris
A slender, long‑snouted weevil specialised for life on poplars and willows - particularly Black Poplar and Hybrid Black Polar. It is 4-5mm (excluding the long rostrum) and tawny brown with the upper side covered in patchy pale and decumbent (lying flat) pubescence. The rostrum is only slightly curved. There are small tooth on each femor, with the front femoral tooth being larger than the others.
This is a rare beetle and identification needs to be confirmed with the County Recorder.
