frog and toad spawn

Your records of frog and toad spawn are needed for the Local Nature Recovery Strategy. More...

Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) has selected 100 Indicator Species to serve as ecological barometers for the county’s habitats. These diverse species will help monitor the success of the Strategy by reflecting the condition of key habitats such as woodlands, grasslands, wetlands, freshwater sites and urban green spaces. The Indicator Species represent a sample of biodiversity that will help us to monitor the state of nature in our area. Everyone can contribute to the LNRS by recording these species on NatureSpot whenever we come across them. Please look out for these species and submit your records. Now is the time to record frog and toad spawn (but you can record the adults at any time of year).

Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland Local Nature Recovery Strategy aims to restore and enhance biodiversity across the three areas by coordinating action between councils, landowners, farmers, conservation groups, and local communities. The LNRS sets out how everyone can contribute to making space for nature and tackling major environmental challenges. Ultimately it is about creating more, better and better-connected space for nature across Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland.
