The expansion of Syston Lakes Nature Reserve will provide a much-needed boost to the resident wildlife of the area, creating more resilience for nature along the Soar Valley corridor. Alongside the land, David Wilson Homes has provided a £20,000 donation to the Trust. Syston Lakes has been owned by the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust since 2011. The site is part of the important River Soar corridor and contains open water and grassland on restored former gravel workings.
