Marsh Speedwell - Veronica scutellata
The long, narrow leaves of the Marsh Speedwell and the whitish, lilac or pale pinkish flowers are characteristic.

Found in a wide range of wetland habitats, including pond and lake margins and marshes.
May to September.
Perennial herb.
Although quite widespread in Britain the species has suffered a sharp decline in central and southern England.
Now scarce in Leicestershire and Rutland, and threatened by drainages of marshland.
It is listed on the current VC55 Rare Plant Register (Hall and Woodward 2022) as Locally Scarce (i.e. present in 4-10 sites)
