Cloud Wood is 33 hectare site is a wildlife Trust nature reserve. It is ancient woodland and a Site of Special Scientific Interest and is one of the most floristically rich sites in the county with several orchids and a number of special woodland flowers such as Herb Paris and Giant Bellflower. Hill Hole Quarry is an old granite quarry on the edge of Markfield and is managed by Hinckley and Bosworth District Council.
