Just this week we've had two County firsts from recorders on their permitted daily exercise. Ann Smith recorded the ladybird Nephus quadrimaculatus in her local churchyard. Gavin Gamble recorded the ant Lasius brunneus on his local patch, a Nationally Notable A species recorded from less than 30 hectads in the UK. Neither of these species has ever been recorded before in Leicestershire and Rutland. Win!
