Lit&Phil Natural History Section Online Zoom Meeting
Online Zoom meeting
The Leicester Literary and Leicester Philosophical Society, the "Lit and Phil", was founded in 1835. As early as 1850 specialist sections of the Society were formed and one of these became the Natural History Section. In our 185 year history we have faced other pandemics, notably the 1918 "Spanish" flu, but we've never held and online meeting - until now. Because of Covid-19 the Summer Programme of field visits had to be cancelled. However we felt that members might like an opportunity to "meet up with" other members of the Natural History Section. To do this we have arranged an Zoom meeting on Wednesday 3rd June at 7.30pm. The aim will be to share sightings, exhibits and anecdotes of what has been experienced in our gardens and in our local neighbourhoods - rather like our sightings slot at Winter meetings but hopefully with photographs, videos, etc. We would be delighted if you have exhibits to share, but it's not a necessity - Committee members have agreed to have a few things up their sleeves! This is an experiment, but we feel it is an important one - if Chelsea Flower Show can be virtual, the so can we! To join this Zoom meeting you will need to be a current member of the Natural History Section. Members have already received an email with details of how to join the meeting on 3rd June. If you would like to join the Natural History Section, please email: leicesternaturalhistory@gmail.com
